As the summer closes in and we prepare to close our windows and turn the heating up a notch for the Autumn breeze, there is something that lurks eerily around and that our friends are spider mating season!
Yes, as last year's wet summer drenched us spiders ran for cover in our homes creating a place to mate! The sex crazed spiders are not messing around as it has been reported that some of the spiders discovered are as big as mice. Yikes!
According to Steve McGrail from Pro-Kill Environmental he says
“The male spiders come out the woodwork during this time of year as it is breeding season and they are searching for female spiders.”
So what should you do if you find yourself with a hairy eight legged unwanted friend in your house?
The British Arachnological Society says : "It's impossible to rid an area of spiders for any length of time because new spiders soon recolonise a house if the original inhabitants are killed off.
"Carefully sweep up the spider and put it outside, or better still put in an outside shed, garage or similar place as the 'outside' is not their habitat and it is a bit cruel.
"If one gets trapped in the bath or sink put a towel on the edge of the bath or sink so the spider can climb out. The spider cannot climb up the slippery sides of the bath and so are trapped."
Whilst many people believe that just removing or killing the spider will solve the problem, unfortunately, that is not the case as experts say that others will simply replace them. In fact, it is a proven fact that spiders live in our houses all year around but simply come out to play during the mating season.
The best thing to do is to move the spider to a shed or garage, throwing out in the backyard will simply just kill them.
Another great way of preventing them is using a solution such as the Spider Defense Spray which is made up of 100% natural solutions that stop spiders from coming into your home.
The spray is perfect for using on spider prone environments such as window sills, skirting boards and door frames without harming or damaging the surfaces.
This will be the perfect product for anyone who doesn’t like the sight of spiders in their home.
By simply using the spray every two weeks Spider Defence can defend your home from being plagued by unwanted guests, and is perfect for families with children who experience the fear of seeing a spider.
The spray works as it contains ingredients such as peppermint oil and eucalyptus which is a known smell that spider prefers to avoid, meaning they’ll simply move on rather than lurking around to create their next web.
Already the spray has been rated a #1 insect repellant on Amazon due to its promises to keep spiders at bay.
The Spider Defense Spray is out now at £9.99 and is purchased from www.spiderspray.com
